Meet the founder
Firefly Hub began with a simple but important challenge: how to build a trusted network around a business owner who was starting again in a new city.
When a friend relocated to London and began rebuilding his business from scratch, he faced the same issue many business owners know all too well — finding reliable, reputable trades and service providers who would turn up, do the job properly, and protect his reputation as well as their own. To support him, we invited a small group of contractors to meet for coffee and explore the idea of creating a stronger, more trustworthy business circle.
Five contractors attended the first meeting. They connected with our values and ethics, and agreed to meet again two weeks later. By the next meeting, there were ten businesses in the room. As interest grew, it became clear that what started as an informal coffee meeting needed a little more structure, so we moved into a private room and began organising things more intentionally.
With a background in teaching, I naturally stepped into the role of organiser, bringing structure, badges, presentations, and a bit of order to the group. What mattered most, though, was not how much businesses charged — it was the quality of the service, the professionalism behind it, and the values people brought with them. As the saying goes, you often get what you pay for.
Within six months, my friend was able to leave agency work behind and become fully self-sufficient through his own business. That moment helped shape what Firefly Hub would become.
At the same time, I was involved in a mum-and-baby group, where a similar pattern kept emerging. Again and again, people were struggling to find trusted trades and professionals they could rely on. That highlighted a powerful overlap: customers needed quality providers, and trades and service businesses needed more opportunities.
What began as a small idea has grown into something far bigger. Firefly Hub has snowballed from a tiny local group into a thriving network that continues to attract kind, capable, and courageous business owners. We are still amazed by the quality of people and businesses who join us, and we remain committed to creating opportunities for small business owners across the UK.

We hold ourselves accountable and aim to respond within 24 working hours. If something goes wrong, we deal with it quickly and professionally.
We also believe in supporting the wider group, so we actively promote other members whenever we can. And because consistency matters, we ask all members to commit to their 90-minute meetings every two weeks.
