As you get ready to plan your event it’s an exciting time.
My first-time being part of a wedding was 22 years ago when my sister got married. As a family we came together to ensure my sister and her husband had the day of their dreams. Our family had regular meetings, did our own wine tastings, made the wedding favours, and set up the reception venue.
My mum worked at the BBC and had experience of events, so we hired everything we needed to set up the reception the evening before my sister’s wedding day. This enabled everything to be ready for when the caterers arrived the next day. It was a fun experience.
Family and friends still talk about how lovely the wedding was after all these years, which is a great testament. At that time, I never dreamed about being an Event Planner.
Over the years, every time we had a function or something to celebrate in my family, we always came together to organise the event. Friends and family would comment about how much fun they had and how our family bring people together.
